Halloween Horror Nights 25

Well, it’s finally over. It was an amazing year! So many great houses! And those scare zones.. some really incredible scaractors this year.

Here is our final house list:

25 years of Monsters & Mayhem – this was Mrs Roamer’s favorite house in all of her 9 years of HHN! Every room was unique and different, and did not disappoint. And best of all, @hhnbear danced when you chanted his name!

Body Collectors / Freddy vs. Jason – this is a tie for us. Both really great houses. Mrs Roamer favors Body Collectors while Mr Roamer FvJ. He says the some of the scenes in BC were “empty” or “missed”. Agree – especially the girl laying in the snow room and the bored little person at the end. But I loved the scenery so much more than FvJ. Although, FvJ did give us some good scares!

Run – scaractors were pretty intense! Plus, ALL THE BUTTONS!! I do love me some buttons.

Asylum – very trippy house, loved the tunnel. If one thing was missing, the house felt empty.

Insidious – gorgeous set, great details. Just could not get a good run thru or scare here. Too bad because the movie was terrifying!

Purge – the set here was very plain and boring, but the scaractors made up for it most days, plus the plant was ingenious!

AWIL – Been there, done that 2 years ago. Exactly that. Puppets really weren’t scary. That cop though! He got me almost every time!

TWD – really the worst house by far. Mayhem was SO high and this one was SO low. Please don’t bring back The Walking Dead again next year Uni. We love TWD show but this house was just so boring.

Unmasking the Horror Tour – if you get the chance, sign up for this! It was amazing!

Speaking of bears…

@hhnbear! I’m not even sure how this started but Bear ended up being the unofficial icon of HHN25! He would dance for you if you chanted his name. I will miss him. Love you, bear!

Meeting new people! We have been coming for a long time. Sometimes our friends come down from out of town and we hang out with them, but most of the time it’s just us. This year was a lot of fun because we got to meet so many new people who love HHN just as much as we do thanks to social media! Who knew a few follows on Twitter could turn into real-life friendships? To those people, we thank you for being so much fun! We look forward to hanging out with you again next year! I’m sure we’ll probably see some of you around for Christmas and Mardi Gras.

The Carnival of Carnage show. What a great replacement to the previous years’ shows! Very funny and loved the aerial performers. Didn’t really care to see it over and over like B&T but was still pretty awesome!

Bill & Ted. Always and as much as possible. Don’t care what the haters say. Love you guys to the moon!

Our least favorite things of the event:

People smoking EVERY WHERE. In line, walking around, while trying to rest on benches or tables, I mean they just did NOT care.

Irresponsible parents bringing tiny children to the event! I know this happens every year, but it still really annoys me.

The lack of lighting on walking paths. Tripped once. Saw others do the same, some with scraped knees. The walk out of AWIL/Mayhem was terrible with all the bumpy turf areas. This picture below is another example – ran smack into this stupid thing in the Asylum line.

All in all, it was an epic year. Counting down to HHN26!
